Vigil in commemoration of Fredy Villanueva’s Birthday

On April 6th, 2012, Fredy Villanueva would be turning 22 years old.

At the age of eighteen, Fredy died too young, after Officer Jean-Loup Lapointe opened fire on him and two of his friends in the Henri-Bourassa arena parking lot, on August 9, 2008.

However, Fredy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. For this reason, the Villanueva family will once again gather on Friday, April 6th, at the scene of the fatal police intervention to remember Fredy on his birthday.

Let it not be forgotten that the concluding report from the inquiry presided by André Perreault regarding the causes and circumstances of Fredy Villanueva’s death  has been delayed by appeal proceedings brought forth by Officer Lapointe’s employer, the City of Montreal, along with his union, the Police Brotherhood, and the Montreal City Police.

The Dany Villanueva support committee invites all supporters to come to the April 6th vigil and show your solidarity with the Villanueva family in their ongoing struggle for truth and justice.
